Some Thoughts On The Live Sumo Feed That Randomly Popped Up On YouTube Just Now

  • It's weird seeing them go through the traditional pre-match Sumo stuff with Autotuned J-Trap and J-Pop playing in the background.
  • The chat is in a lot of different languages, none of them Japanese.
  • The pre-match interview packages are longer than the matches by about double, and they're only 60 seconds tops.
  • (So you might say the dudes are dummy thicc and the matches are stupid quick.)
  • Live Sumo wrestling was one of those theoretical privileges you heard about in the 80's of having satellite TV, and here I am getting it for free on Youtube.  Progress?
