41 - The Top 100 Songs Of The Decade (12/20/09)
These are my favorite songs of the last 10 years. A LOT of good shit didn't make the cut, which shows you how fierce the competition is. Also, it was hard to rate a lot of these. I had to not only factor in how much I liked (LOVED) the song, but also its technical merits, and or its concepts. (For instance: "Stan" by Eminem. Not the most catchy song, doesn't have what Bus-A-Bus calls the "Oh Shit!" factor, but the concept behind it is HELLA original. Nothing like it before or since.) So, in short, I had to average those three factors. (With my love for the song being the heaviest weight.)

Also, while we're on the subject of useless information, "Love Of Babble" from Chobits is the shortest song on the countdown (2:35), and "Duel With The Devil" by Transatlantic is the longest, clocking in at 26:34. (And that wasn't even the longest song on that album!) Meshuggah came close with the only song on the "I" EP. (21 min. flat.) (Three more entries broke the 10 min. barrier, and 8 to 10 others, depending on how close you wanna call it, were 7 min. and up.) "Magic Theater" by La' Cryma Christi (The Tears Of Christ) is the oldest song on the countdown (released 3/21/2000), and "Prelude Bombfare" (the Final Fantasy medely) is the newest release, somewhere in the 3rd week of October 2009. (And had I not instituted a cut-off date of Halloween, "Supercrush" by Devin Townsend Project would hold that honor, no doubt.) Also, songs # 1, 2, 4 and six can make me cry at the drop of a hat if I'm feeling particularly vulnerable. (All for different reasons, too.)
